Mr. Taddeo, former Special Agent in Charge of the Special Operations/Cyber Division of the FBI’s New York Office, is responsible for analyzing the cybersecurity market to help shape Cryptzone’s vision for security solutions. Taddeo provides deep domain insight into the techniques, tactics and procedures used by cybercriminals, to help Cryptzone continue to develop disruptive solutions that enable customers to defend against advanced threats and breaches. Mr. Taddeo received his degree in applied physics in 1987 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  After completing his studies at Rensselaer, Mr. Taddeo served as a tank officer in the US Marine Corps.  In 1991, he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal for valor for his service in the Gulf War.  Following his service in the Marines, Mr. Taddeo earned a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University.  Upon graduation, he joined the law firm of Mound, Cotton & Wollan in New York, where he practiced in the field of civil litigation until entering on duty with the FBI. Mr. Taddeo is a graduate of the CISO Executive Program at Carnegie Mellon University. He also maintains the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and GIAC Certified Incident Handler certifications.

Joseph McEnness is the Executive Director of the Office of Risk Management for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, Massachusetts, Administrator of the Massachusetts Catholic Self-Insurance Group, Inc., and President of Fides Insurance Group, Inc. Mr. McEnness has more than 35 years in the risk management and insurance field, with previous positions that included Regional Manager of Liability and Risk – Eastern U.S. Region for Budget Rent-a-Car Corporation, Corporate Litigation Claims Group Manager for John Hancock Property and Casualty, several positions with Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Co. In addition to serving as a consultant and mediator in risk management and insurance matters, he has written, lectured, and been a speaker and panelist on risk management, crisis management and strategic communications, strategic planning, enterprise risk management, negotiation, mediation, and litigation management for several organizations including the Liability Insurance Research Bureau, the American Law Firm Association, the Property Insurance Research Bureau, John Hancock Financial Services, the University of Rhode Island and Salve Regina University. Mr. McEnness is a member of the Board of Directors of The National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc., the Blackstone Valley Development Corporation, the Blackstone Valley ARC, the Self-Insurance Group Association of Massachusetts, the International Risk and Insurances Services Group, and is a Fellow of the Council on Litigation Management. He is also a former member of the Property and Liability Research Bureaus’ Eastern Regional Advisory Council and former Chairman of the Education Sub-Committee.

About Joseph
Joe Lawless is the chief law enforcement and security officer for Massport’s maritime properties located in South Boston, East Boston, and Charlestown. His responsibilities consist of developing and implementing policing, security and emergency planning strategies for facilities including the Boston Fish Pier, Cruiseport Boston and Conley Container Terminal.  . Lawless is a security industry leader, locally and nationally.  He is a member of the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee. The committee is comprised of 22 members representing all segments of the industry and provides advice to the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security via the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard on matters such as national security strategy and policy, actions required to meet current and future security threats, international cooperation on security issues, and security concerns of the maritime transportation industry.   Lawless currently serves as the Chairman of the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) Security Advisory Committee, a position he has held since 2009.  The AAPA is the principal voice of 160 public port authorities in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He has testified before Congress on key issues involving port security.   Lawless created and chairs the weekly Port Security Operations meeting, a public and private security collaborative, attended by representatives of over twenty different agencies and corporations. Lawless received the 2012 International Police 9/11 Medal for Extraordinary & Distinguished Lifetime Achievement in fighting terrorism and trans-national crime from the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police. Lawless has 35 years of law enforcement and security experience, including more than 13 years with the Massachusetts State Police Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Executive Protection units. He came to Massport in 1993 overseeing all aspects of public safety. In this role he oversaw Logan Airport-based Troop F of the Massachusetts State Police. During this time, Troop F became the first law enforcement entity accredited by the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police for their commitment to excellence. Lawless is Board-certified as a Homeland Security Specialist by the American College of Forensic Examiners, and also serves on several national and international panels that focus on security. Lawless received his B.A. from Merrimack College located in Andover, Mass., and an M.A. from Boston University.

As a reporter and television anchorman for more than 25 years, Mike Lawrence spent much of his time asking tough questions and holding companies and governments accountable. For the past 18 years, he’s helped clients acknowledge and address the perceptions and expectations of customers, employees, media and other key constituents. Mike founded Cone’s Corporate Responsibility discipline, and provides leadership to the agency’s crisis prevention and management effort for clients.   Mike has five Emmy awards and numerous other journalism honors under his belt, as well as two national crisis management awards. Mike is right in his comfort zone when it comes to working with C suite leaders and communications professionals. His counsel has covered diverse situations from product safety to environmental hazards to labor relations confrontations to workplace crime. He is an expert on strategy, issues identification and management. Mike is a member of the Board of Directors of Editorial Projects in Education, Inc. (publisher of Education Week), and is a former local union president.

Michael Sechrist is a Vice President in Corporate Information Security at State Street, where he manages the threat intelligence program.  He previously was the Program Manager of the Explorations of Cyber International Relations project at Harvard Kennedy School and a consultant for Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.  Before that, he held several different roles at the White House, State Department and Pentagon, respectively.  Michael has a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Fellow.

About Jason
Jason co-founded Synergy Solutions Corp. in 2001. He was part of the creative team that developed I.M.P.A.C.T., one of many Synergy’s all hazards programs to help clients prepare for critical incidents. Synergy’s programs are currently being implemented by school systems throughout the region and hundreds at of other locations across the country. The programs are designed to develop a logistical plan for first responders and staff personnel to deal with critical incidents or violent encounters. Jason has also been part of the exercise management team that developed, conducted and evaluated many full-scale evacuation exercises. Jason and the Synergy team collectively have over a hundred years of emergency response experience in the fields of healthcare, fire service, law enforcement and emergency management. Jason serves on or has been a part of many committees, including the National Democratic Convention Tactical Sub-Committee, the Boston Marathon Tactical Sub-Committee and the California Critical Incident Sub-Committee, as well as the Massachusetts Governor’s School Safety Task Force. Jason holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Emergency Management. Jason is a certified Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and Physical Security Professional (PSP) He served 10 years in the United States Army National Guard with the 101st Combat Engineer Battalion, serving as a squad leader; he also received an Army Commendation Award for saving the life of a fellow soldier. Jason is currently a Police Sergeant and the Deputy Operation Section Chief for the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council’s Special Tactics and Response Team (Metro-STAR). Metro-STAR is a regional tactical team with 100+ members comprising a Search and Rescue Team, Special Weapons and Tactics Team, and Mobile Field Force/ Crowd Control Team. Metro-STAR serves 46 cities and towns in Southeastern Massachusetts. As the Deputy Operations Commander, Jason has become certified in numerous command and instructor level courses. He has been involved with several crowd control deployments and was part of the Democratic National Convention Tactical- Subcommittee which was tasked with developing the tactical planning for the DNC. During his tenure as the Deputy Operation Commander, Jason has planned for and supervised scores of critical incident responses including emergency management operations in Boston and Watertown during the Marathon Bombing and Watertown Terrorist Manhunt.

As Director of Emergency Solutions International, Mark has assisted partners from industry, the private sector and government in their “All Hazard” emergency planning, preparedness and risk assessment needs.  Further, with expertise in Incident Management System (IMS) in the response and recovery phase, ESI can provide “resourced” teams to assist or proactively train “boots on the ground” IMS personnel. Deputy Gillan concluded 26 years of service with the Saint John Fire Department in August of 2011.  He graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a Degree in Business Administration (B.B.A.).  As well, he has completed the Dalhousie University, Certificate in Incident Command, the Canadian Association of Fire Chief’s: “Chief Fire Officer” Designation (C.F.O.) and the British: Institute of Fire Engineer’s “Member’s Level” Designation (MIFireE) Award.  Mark considers a highlight of his studies to be, time spent studying Incident Command at the U.S. National Fire Academy and the Leadership in Crisis program at Harvard University. As a Command Officer, Mark has served as Incident Commander, Safety Officer and Emergency Site Manager at a number of serious incidents.  On several activations of the Saint John Emergency Management Organization, Mark has fulfilled the roles of Fire Services Representative and Manager of the EOC. In relation to our nation’s preparedness: he has completed advanced training at CFB Suffield and serves through the Centre for Security Science assisting with Capability Based Planning.

Heather B. Bearfield is a Principal in the Firm’s Boston office and serves as the National Technology Assurance Services Practice Group Leader. She is also a member of its National Alternative Investment, Healthcare and Financial Services Industry Groups. Ms. Bearfield has extensive experience with SOC engagements, internal and external audits, application reviews, internal and external vulnerability assessments, wireless assessments and penetration testing. Ms. Bearfield’s main focus has been around data security and Cyber Security. Engagements include vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, wireless assessments and social engineering. Rob is a Principal at PreparedEx where he manages a team of crisis preparedness professionals and has over 20 years of experience preparing for and responding to crises. Part of his leadership role includes assisting PreparedEx clients in designing, implementing and evaluating crisis, emergency, security and business continuity management programs. During his career Rob has worked for the US State Department’s Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program, as a crisis management consultant in Pakistan and Afghanistan where he negotiated with the UN and Pashtun tribal warlords and he served with the United Kingdom Special Forces where he operated internationally under hazardous covert and confidential conditions. Rob was also part of a disciplined and prestigious unit The Grenadier Guards where he served Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Palaces in London. Rob was a highly trained and experienced infantryman serving in Desert Storm and commanded covert operational teams and was a sniper. Rob has keynoted disaster recovery conferences and participated in live debates on FOX News regarding complex security requirements and terrorism. Rob has a Queen’s Commendation for Bravery.
